Our Story

The Fremantle Football Club, known as the Dockers, was established in 1994 as the second AFL team from Western Australia. Entering the competition in 1995, the club represented the port city of Fremantle and quickly became a symbol of pride for the southern suburbs of Perth and the wider WA community.

Playing their early home games at Subiaco Oval before moving to the WACA Ground and eventually settling at the state-of-the-art Perth Stadium (Optus Stadium) in 2018, the Dockers have built a passionate and loyal supporter base known as the Purple Army.

The club's colours of purple, white, red and green set them apart in the league. The iconic anchor logo has become one of the most recognisable symbols in Australian sport.

From challenging early years to their breakthrough Grand Final appearance in 2013 and the rise of a new generation of stars, the Dockers' story is one of resilience, community, and an unwavering belief that the best is yet to come.

Fremantle moved their training ground from their traditional home in Fremantle to a high-performance facility at Cockburn in 2015.
